75 Years of Industry Service Celebrated at CTFA's Annual Grower Dinner
11/29/2007
The 75th anniversary of the California Tree Fruit Agreement (CTFA) will be commemorated at the organization's Sixth Annual Grower Dinner on December 4, 2007. The evening will celebrate CTFA’s three-quarters of a century of service to the California tree fruit industry and pay tribute to its members. More than 400 members and guests of the California peach, plum and nectarine industry are expected to attend the fruit-focused event at the Visalia Convention Center.
“The annual grower dinner is a night to recognize the members of our remarkable industry,” said Sheri Mierau, CTFA President. “It is the hard work and commitment of the growers of fresh California peaches, plums and nectarines that have allowed our organization to reach this milestone.”
The evening will begin with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by a brief presentation by CTFA President Mierau and a short video highlighting the history of the California stone fruit industry, with remembrances from longstanding members. Dinner will follow and the evening will conclude with a sponsored raffle. All members and interested parties are welcome to attend. Tickets are free of charge and can be reserved by contacting the CTFA office.
“The annual dinner gives us an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s successes and challenges just as our attention turns towards preparation for 2008’s programs,” said Joanna Frith, CTFA’s Domestic Market Manager.
To request tickets for the Annual Grower Dinner or for more information, contact CTFA at (559) 638-8260.
Originally established in 1933 and headquartered in Reedley, California, the California Tree Fruit Agreement is funded by and administers marketing order programs on behalf of California’s more than 1,100 fresh peach, plum and nectarine growers.
