Harvest is Happening The cool nights of October remind us that summer has passed, fall is here and winter is just around the corner. As the days get cooler and shorter, cling to the juiciness and taste of summer by taking advantage of the late-season California peaches, plums and nectarines still available at your local grocery store. Remember these precious summer gems will only be available through the end of October until a fresh new season begins in May.

If saying goodbye (for now) is just too hard, consider canning. With minimum ingredients and hardware needed, the simple act of canning will provide a taste of summer throughout the winter months.

We hope you have had a delicious summer and we look forward to sharing more delicious recipes and tips with you beginning next April. ‘til next season!
